Bayou L’Ourse Man Charged With Aggravated Battery With A Dangerous Weapon After Victim Recieved Physical Injuries

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of George Thomas Boutwell, 39, of 180 Elaine Street, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on felony charges arising from a March 9, 2021 incident which occurred at 180 Vivian Street in Bayou L’Ourse.

Deputies met with the reported victim at the Sheriff’s Main Office. The victim advised that her husband was complicit in causing a disturbance at the Vivian Street address which resulted in the victim receiving physical injuries.

The victim further alleged that Mr. Boutwell was threatening her with a knife and did cut her. The suspect George Thomas Boutwell also is accused of attempting to strangle his wife.

Based on all available evidence, George Thomas Boutwell was determined to be the predominant aggressor. He was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Domestic Abuse Battery Involving Strangulation
*Interfering with Emergency Communications
*False Imprisonment
*Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault
*Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon

George Thomas Boutwell remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
