William Arthur Reed, a native of Pentwater, Michigan and a proud resident of Berwick, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the age of 88.

William proudly served his country in the United States Army and later worked diligently at Westgate gas station, where he met the love of his life, Sandy. He went on to join Oakridge Public Schools as a custodian, dedicating over 26 years to the role before retiring. After retirement, William kept himself busy tinkering at home and pursuing his many hobbies, including hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. Though he was a quiet man who preferred to keep to himself, he cherished his grandchildren, who adored him in return.

Those left to cherish William’s wonderful memory is his son, William “Billy” F. Reed and his wife, Gina; his grandchildren, Miranda Songe, Carl Reed and his companion, Victoria Duplantis, Mickenzie Reed and her companion, Kyle Permenter, and Tasha Garcia and her husband, Roger; his great grandchildren, Zoe, Ivy, Leileigh, Jayce, Kate, Zoey, Ty, and one on the way, Baby JJ; and his sisters, Marge, Carolyn and her husband, Toad, Lois and her husband, Dave, and Pat.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Reed; his parents; and his siblings, Flo and her husband, Frank, Sally, Sonny, and Chuck.

The family requests that a time of memorial visitation be observed on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 10:00 am until time of service at Hargrave Funeral Home. A celebration of William’s life will begin on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 1:00pm at Hargrave Funeral Home with dismissal following the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in William’s memory to Hargrave Funeral Home, to assist in the alleviation of funeral expenses.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to two special angels in their lives; Tanya Theriot, for always being there and helping whenever needed ( William loved you like a daughter and you always put a smile on his face); and Josh Nelson ( thank you for stepping in to help night or day). The family would also like to thank Dr Melancon and his staff at Tiger Island Medical, Kerri (you know how much he loved you.), Dawanna Gray, Heart of Hospice, Rev Macoy, Stephanie, Karen, and Lacy.
