Three Suspects Arrested in Connection with Shots Fired Calls in Franklin

Shane Gibson has been arrested. The Franklin Police Department would like to thank the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, Baldwin Police Department, and Jeanerette Police Department for their assistance in locating the suspect.

Franklin Police Department reports the arrests of two suspects, with a third suspect still wanted in connection with calls the department received regarding shots fired on Saturday.  On March 8, 2025, the Franklin Police Department responded to calls of shots fired in the area of Iberia Street. The following two arrests stem from that investigation.

Omarion Jack, 19, of Morris St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on March 8, 2025, at 8:15 PM, on the charges of home invasion, principal to attempted aggravated criminal damage to property, principal to illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, and principal to attempted first degree murder. Jack was booked, processed, and held on a $105,000.00 bond.

Jakalup Jones, 18, of Willow St., Franklin, LA, was arrested on March 8, 2025, at 10:31 PM, on the charges of home invasion, principal to attempted aggravated criminal damage to property, principal to illegal use of weapons, and principal to attempted first degree murder. Jones was booked, processed, and held on a $105,000.00 bond.

The Franklin Police Department is asking for assistance in locating the following subject in reference to this investigation. Shane Gibson is wanted for attempted first degree murder, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, and aggravated assault. Gibson is considered armed and dangerous.
