St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 24 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Deandre Weber, 34, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on March 22, 2021, at 11:49 p.m. for improper lane usage, flight from an officer, possession of marijuana, and open container. Weber was released on a summons to appear in court on June 28th, 2021.
Dezzie Booty, 41, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on March 22, 2021, at 6:39 p.m. on the following charges:
- Introducing or possessing contraband into a municipal or parish prison or jail
- Possession/distribution/sale of legend drug without prescription
Bail has been set at $1,700.
K9 SECTION
Keora Clay, 23, Houma, LA, was arrested on March 22, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. for inward outward view (window tint), possession of marijuana, prohibited acts- drug paraphernalia
A K9 deputy was stationary facing eastbound traffic on Highway 90, near the median of Highway 182 Junction, observed a vehicle traveling in the left lane, with extremely dark tint. A traffic stop was conducted and identified the driver was Clay. Upon the approach of the vehicle, deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. K-9 Doerak was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle. Within further investigation, 2.5 grams of marijuana was located.
Clay was released on a summons to appear in court on June 28th, 2021.
