MORGAN CITY, La. — The City of Morgan City is advising motorists of a change to the school zone surrounding Maitland Elementary School.
The updated zone extends along Federal Avenue from Bush Street to Garber Street.
Under the city’s ordinance, the school zone also includes intersections designated as school crossings and 100 feet along each designated approach to those intersections.
Drivers are reminded to follow posted school zone speed limits, watch for children and pedestrians, and use extra caution while traveling through the area.
