St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 96-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 133 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Jameson Jamal Jontay Austin, 21, Houma, LA, was arrested on November 23, 2022, at 9:29 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Illegal possession of stolen firearms
- Illegal carrying of a weapon
- Carrying of a firearm or weapon in a firearm-free zone
- Resisting an officer
Bail was set at $30,000.
Derrick Anthony Johnson, 41, Napoleonville, LA, was arrested on November 23, 2022, at 10:34 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Simple criminal damage to property
- Simple assault
- Simple battery
- Disturbing the peace-intoxicated
Bail was set at $2,500.
Gerard Leon Harris, 42, Patterson, LA, was arrested on November 24, 2022, at 3:30 am for domestic abuse child endangerment law. Bail was set at $7,500.
Aaliya Poole, 20, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 26, 2022, at 2:20 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Direct contempt
- Speeding
- Failing to honor written promise to appear
- Simple battery
- Simple criminal damage to property
Bail has not been set at this time.
Jordyn Ray McCoy, 21, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 26, 2022, at 5:05 pm on three warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Flight from an officer
- Unlawful operation of an off-road vehicle
- Illegal use/possession/control of weapons/crime of violence
- Possession of marijuana
- Window tint/obscuring windshield/window view
McCoy was transferred to another agency.
Itzeel Perez-Malerva, 41, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 27, 2022, at 8:50 am for careless operation and driving while intoxicated. Perez-Malerva was released on a $1,340 bond.
NARCOTICS SECTION
Tyler Paul Rogers, 28, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on November 24, 2022, at 10:25 pm for aggravated assault with a firearm, threatening a public official (3 counts), and resisting a police officer with force or violence. Bail was set at $100,000.
Joseph James, 31, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 23, 2022, at 6:20 pm on a warrant for possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine. James also held a Franklin Police Department warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and stop signs/yield signs. James was released on a $2,363 bond.
All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
