Jeanerette Police Searching for Suspect After Juvenile Shot

Jeanerette Police are searching for an 18-year-old man in connection with a shooting that left a juvenile injured Saturday afternoon.

According to the Jeanerette Police Department, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Cormier Street at approximately 12:44 p.m. on July 18. When officers arrived, they found a male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower extremities.

First responders provided emergency medical treatment at the scene before the victim was transported to a local medical facility. The juvenile was reported to be in stable condition.

As detectives investigated the shooting, they secured the crime scene and identified two suspects.
A 15-year-old male juvenile has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Authorities have also identified a second suspect as Carmel Deuandre Gibson, 18, who is wanted in connection with the shooting. Police say Gibson should be considered armed and dangerous.
