Funeral services celebrating the life of Preston Joseph LeBlanc will be held during an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Charenton. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Father Christopher Cambre will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the Rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM followed by the eulogy. Visiting hours will resume Wednesday at Ibert’s at 8:00 AM and continue until time of dismissal at 10:30 AM.

A longtime resident of Charenton, Preston was born in Jeanerette, LA May 14, 1940. He was the 4th of five children born to Wilton and Marie LeBlanc. He passed away at the age of 82 on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Preston lived for his family and loved everyone unconditionally. He love French music, dancing, cowboy movies, and Sunday drives. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Baldwin-Charenton Council No. 6873 and a longtime parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Charenton where he faithfully attended Sunday Mass. He retired from St. Mary Parish Water District #4 where he worked for 25 years.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara Hebert LeBlanc of Charenton; two sons, Blair Leblanc and his wife Monica of Charenton and Lance “Tibby” LeBlanc and his wife Jill of Youngsville; five daughters, Cindy Mire and her husband David of Baldwin, Melanie “Mel” Durocher of Charenton, Carrie Barrilleaux and her husband Chris of Franklin, Lana Sanchez and her husband John of New Iberia, Dondie Breaux and her husband Kevin of Franklin; eighteen grandchildren, Brandon LeBlanc, Misty Moore, Brittany Sanders, Brian Mire, Eric Mire, Denny Mire, Devan Lancon, Baley Durocher, Bo Barrilleaux, Cara Landry, Calli Landry, Jordan Sanchez, Jayna Barras, Joshua Sanchez, Dustin Breaux, Ali Breaux, Mason LeBlanc, Aiden LeBlanc; 38 great grandchildren and awaiting 2 additional great grandchildren in 2023; and one sister, Gertrude Naquin of Jeanerette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilton and Marie LeBlanc; his father and mother-in-law, Bennett and Odette Hebert; his three siblings, Olivia Guillotte, Elton LeBlanc, and Milton LeBlanc; one son-in-law, Mark “Toe-Doe” Durocher; and three granddaughters, Mayci Breaux, Courtney Durocher, and Heather Blanchard.

Serving as pallbearers will be his eight grandsons, Dustin Breaux, Brandon LeBlanc, Brian Mire, Bo Barrilleaux, Jordan and Joshua Sanchez, Mason and Aiden LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandson, Drake Domangue and his granddaughter’s husband, Eric Lancon.

The family would like to thank the doctors and care team at Franklin Foundation Hospital and Thibodaux Regional Health System for their dedication, compassion and kindness during that difficult time.
