NAPOLEONVILLE, La. — An Assumption Parish man has been arrested on attempted murder charges following a shooting investigation that began earlier this month.
According to Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon, 20-year-old Robert Lee Scott Jr. of Napoleonville was arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on or about June 1, 2026.
Deputies launched an investigation after receiving reports of a shooting that stemmed from a dispute. During the investigation, detectives learned that an individual had allegedly been bragging about shooting at someone days earlier near Napoleonville.
Investigators obtained electronic evidence that reportedly showed Scott in possession of a firearm at the time of the incident. Detectives also interviewed multiple witnesses and a victim who suffered a superficial injury believed to have been caused by gunfire.
Based on the evidence gathered, detectives secured arrest warrants for Scott.
Scott turned himself in to the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Tuesday evening and was booked on charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities.
He remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
