Mary Dickerson Foster, 84, a native of Natchez, Mississippi and a longtime resident of Franklin, passed away peacefully in the late evening hours of Saturday, October 19, 2024, at her home with her family by her side.
Those she leaves to cherish her memory include her children, Janice Foster, Luther “Gene” Foster and his wife Ethel, Kenneth Foster and his fiancé Nicole, Wayne Foster and his wife Angie, and KrisSandra “Sandy” Breaux and her husband Spencer; eight grandchildren, Corey Domangue, Blake Foster, Cody Foster, Heather Brosas, Tyler Foster, Tori Foster, Tristan Breaux, and Cameron Breaux; 10 great grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by her siblings, Carl Dickerson, Katherine DeFeo and her husband George, and Raymond Dickerson; as well as a host of extended family and friends, all of whom were touched by her in their lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin J. “Shorty” Foster; her parents, Luther A. Dickerson and Mary Lee Barlow Dickerson; two sisters, Margaret Aucoin and Betty Cothran; her in-laws, Lester Foster and Florence Benoit Foster; and brothers-in-law, Ralph Foster and Charles Foster.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to her neighbor, Margie White; her sitter, Dacie Theriot; the staff of Iberia Medical Center, and Hospice of Acadiana.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes, private services will be held with family at a later date.
