Her memory will forever live in the hearts of her children, Jamie Bernauer Guidry, Jeannine Bernauer Simoneaux and her husband Melvin, and Cheyenne Burns and his wife Jessica; her siblings, EvelynCurry, Patricia Champagne and her husband Bill, and Douglas Dupuis and his wife Dolores; her grandchildren, Danielle Miller, B.J. Guidry, Shane Bernauer, Shaia Williams, Megan Russo, and Garrett Burns; 22 great grandchildren; two god-children, Ava Young and Christian Clements; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Oliver Joseph Bernauer Jr.; her second husband, Ernest J. Burns; her daughter, Joanie Bernauer Williams; her parents, Pierre Dupuis and Dorothy Landry Dupuis; her brother, Harry J. Dupuis; her son-in-law, Bonnes Guidry; and her grandsons, Melvin Simoneaux III and Joseph Simoneaux.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 7th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville during a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial. Following the Mass she will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery mausoleum. Father Christopher Cambre will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church from 11:00 AM until Mass time, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 1:00 PM led by her daughter Jamie Guidry along with members of the Catholic Daughters Court Assumption.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital, the staff of AMG Specialty Hospital of Lafayette, and especially to Dr. Brent Rochon for the excellent care given to Marlene in her time of need.
