Houma – The Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force, UMC New Orleans, Terrebonne General Health Systems, and the Louisiana State Police are conducting a child passenger safety seat check-up event on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The event will take place at the TGHS Drive Thru Center (8200 W Main Street, Houma) near the Market at the Marina.
Eighteen new child seat safety technicians will be completing their final check-offs by certified instructors this Saturday. We encourage as many parents or child caretakers to attend with their car seats for these new technicians to get more experience.
Technicians will be able to show you how to:
• Select the proper child seat for age, weight, or height
• Ensure that your child is placed into the seat properly
• Ensure that the seat is correctly installed in your vehicle
No appointment is necessary, and it is always a free child seat check. Please note this is not a seat giveaway event.
