CHITIMACHA, La. — A Mississippi woman has been arrested following an investigation into a domestic incident in which a victim was reportedly struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene, according to the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department.
Police identified the suspect as Angela R. Davidson, 61, of South Gordon Street in Centerville, Mississippi.
According to investigators, officers were able to identify the vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident after it left the scene. With assistance from law enforcement agencies in Lafayette Parish, authorities located and intercepted the vehicle.
Following the investigation, Davidson was arrested on active warrants for:
Domestic Abuse Battery
Aggravated Second Degree Battery
Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault with a Vehicle
Two counts of Failure to Seek Assistance
Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Davidson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
The Chitimacha Tribal Police Department thanked the Lafayette Police Department and Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
All persons accused of a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
