Franklin, LA – Mavis Sue Pontiff, age 49, was arrested on September 2, 2023, at 7:24 pm in connection with a mail theft case. She faces charges of theft (100 counts), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of schedule II drugs. Pontiff was taken to St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking, and her bail has been set at $105,000. The investigation is still ongoing, and SMPSO detectives are urging anyone who thinks they may have fallen victim to this crime to contact them at 337-828-1960 and ask to speak with the investigating detective.
