Ethel May Hedrick, a native of Morgan City and a longtime resident of Berwick, was called to her heavenly home on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the age of 95.
Those left to cherish Ethel’s beautiful memory are her niece and nephews, Alice Gutermuth and her husband, Gary, Alvin Lodrigue and his companion, Linh Nguyen, and Lubby Lodrigue and his companion; a brother-in-law, Jerry Varnam; numerous great nieces, great nephews, and friends. She is also survived by especially close friends, Mike and Nina White.
She was reunited in heaven with her husband, Nova Hedrick; her parents, Peter Anthony and Felicia Marguerite Lodrigue; her sisters, Mayola Varnam and Carmen Lodrigue; her brothers, Alvin P. Lodrigue Sr. and Sylvester J. “S.J.” Lodrigue; one niece, Connie Lodrigue and two nephews, David and Bengie Lodrigue.
A time of visitation and remembrance will be held for Ethel on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 8am until time of dismissal for services at the church hall at St. Stephen Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 10am at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Following services, Ethel will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ethel’s name to St. Stephen Catholic Church. Berwick was her hometown and the church was dear to her heart.
