Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Jacob Gaubert W/M 35 Eagle Island Rd. Raceland was arrested on February 8, 2021 at 10:55 PM for
- POSSESSION OF SCH II METHAMPHETAMINE
- POSSESSION OF SCH I HEROIN
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
- SPEEDING 70/55
On Monday February 8, 2021 at approximately 10:40 Pm a traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle speeding 70 in 55 MPH zone. Officers made contact with Gaubert who was advised for the reason of the stop. During the course of the stop, Gaubert admitted to having illegal narcotics on his person. Officers recovered Methamphetamine, Heroin and items of Drug Paraphernalia. Gaubert was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Speeding 68/50.
David Neal Felton W/M 53 of Signey Rd Patterson was arrested on February 9, 2021 at 01:55 am for
- DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED 1ST
- LICENSE PLATE LIGHT REQUIRED
- OPEN CONTAINER
On Tuesday February 9, 2021 at 1:34 am Berwick Officers were patrolling the area of La Hwy 182 west when they observed a vehicle traveling with improper lighting around the license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as David Felton. Upon making contact with Felton, an odor of alcohol was detected and a standardized field sobriety was administered. Felton did poorly on the test and was placed under arrest. He was later transported to Berwick Jail where he submitted to the states breath test with the results of 0.099g% BAC. Felton was booked into the Berwick Jail on the charges. He later posted a $3,000.00 bond and was released.
Donald Paul Lodrigue 35 W/M of Southdown Mandalay Rd Houma, was arrested on Tuesday February 9, 2021 at 4:48 am for
- SPEEDING 68/50
- DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION
On Tuesday morning at approx. 4:38am an officer with the Berwick Police Dept. was conducting radar enforcement in the area of U.S. Hwy 90 when they clocked a vehicle traveling at 68 mph in a 50 mph construction zone. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Lodrigue. While speaking with Lodrigue, he was advised for the reason of the stop and asked to produce a driver’s license. Lodrigue admitted to officers that his license was suspended. He was placed under arrest and transported to Berwick Jail where he was booked on the charges. Lodrigue later posted a $377.00 cash bond and was released.
