Baton Rouge Man Arrested on Warrant for 4th DWI Offense

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced the apprehension of 41-year-old Khalid Asim Coates from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, due to an outstanding East Baton Rouge Parish warrant for failing to appear in court on his fourth offense of driving while intoxicated.

A patrol deputy conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Coates. During the interaction, a warrant check revealed that East Baton Rouge Parish had issued the warrant. Consequently, Coates was arrested and detained at the Assumption Parish Detention Center as a fugitive facing charges of driving while intoxicated – fourth offense.

Khalid Asim Coates was later handed over to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for custody.
