BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Toby J. Chauvin, 40, of 625 Genevieve Street, Belle Rose, LA, and Stormi Schexnaydre, 39, of 44400 Melancon Street, Sorrento, LA, on charges arising from a Monday evening traffic stop near LA 996 and LA 1000 in Brusly St. Martin.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Toby J. Chauvin. This individual was non-compliant, and the deputy arrested him immediately.
The deputy then made contact with the passenger, now identified as Stormi Schexnaydre, who was also non-compliant. The deputy attempted to remove Schexnaydre from the vehicle, but she engaged the deputy into a physical confrontation. She was subdued and subsequently arrested.
Toby J. Chauvin was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Obstruction of Justice
*Resisting an Officer
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
*Expired Inspection Sticker
*Failure to Display a License Plate
Stormi Schexnaydre was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Battery of a Police Officer
*Resisting an Officer
*Obstruction of Justice
Toby J. Chauvin and Stormi Gail Schexnaydre remain incarcerated pending bond hearings.
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Craig M. Businelle, Jr., 29, of 197 Eagle Point Drive, Pierre Part, LA, on traffic and felony drug law violations arising out of a traffic incident in Labadieville on Monday.
Deputies responded to a complaint of a reckless driver on LA 308 in Labadieville. Deputies located the vehicle at the LA 308 and LA 1247 Intersection. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Craig M. Businelle, Jr. The suspect was non-compliant and displayed obvious signs of impairment.
Following the officer / driver interview, the investigating deputies believed that additional investigation was warranted.
Deputies requested consent to search the suspect vehicle which was granted.
During the process of searching the person of Craig M. Businelle, Jr., a quantity of heroin was recovered.
Craig M. Businelle, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Heroin
*Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
*Driving Under the Influence
Craig M. Businelle, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
