BERWICK, La. — Three juveniles have been arrested in connection with Wednesday’s fire in Berwick, according to the Berwick Police Department.
Berwick Police, with assistance from the Berwick Fire Department and Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office, worked throughout the day executing multiple search warrants, conducting interviews and following up on information and tips provided by members of the community.
As a result of the investigation, authorities identified three juveniles — one 14-year-old and two 13-year-olds — believed to be responsible for offenses connected to the fire.
- Simple arson
- Two counts of injury by arson
- Simple burglary
- Criminal damage to property
Because of their ages, authorities said no additional identifying information about the juveniles will be released.
The Berwick Police Department and Berwick Fire Department thanked the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office for its assistance and investigative support. Officials also thanked members of the community who provided information and tips that helped investigators identify those believed to be responsible.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
