Houma Police Seek Public’s Help to Locate Escaped Suspect

The Houma Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in locating 29-year-old Keshara Nevis, who is wanted in connection with an incident that occurred on July 16, 2026. Nevis allegedly escaped from police custody after being arrested on multiple outstanding warrants for theft, possession of stolen property, and fugitive charges from Lafourche Parish. Following her escape, she is now also wanted on a charge of Simple Escape.

Authorities urge anyone with information about Nevis’s whereabouts to contact the Houma Police Department at 985-873-6371. Additionally, tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433 or via their website at www.crimestoppersbr.org. Individuals providing information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
