MORGAN CITY, La. — A Morgan City man was arrested Monday after officers allegedly discovered illegal narcotics believed to be intended for distribution.
According to the Morgan City Police Department, patrol officers arrested 52-year-old Keith Allen Clark of Barrow Street on June 22, 2026.
Clark was charged with:
Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine) With Intent to Distribute
Possession of Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (Synthetic Marijuana)
Police say officers were conducting proactive patrols in a residential neighborhood during the late-night hours when they observed Clark walking in the area. Upon noticing officers, Clark allegedly attempted to flee on foot and discard narcotics.
Officers quickly detained Clark and recovered the discarded items during their investigation. Authorities reported finding suspected crack cocaine, suspected powder cocaine, and suspected synthetic marijuana in Clark’s possession.
Based on evidence recovered at the scene, investigators believe the cocaine was intended for distribution within the Morgan City area.
Further investigation revealed Clark is currently on probation through the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections for previous drug-related offenses. A probation and parole hold was subsequently placed on him.
Morgan City Police Chief Chad M. Adams praised the officers involved in the arrest, stating that proactive patrol efforts continue to play an important role in identifying criminal activity and removing illegal narcotics from the community.
