LABADIEVILLE, La. — A Labadieville woman has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of Medicaid fraud following an investigation by the Louisiana Department of Justice.
Attorney General Liz Murrill announced that 42-year-old Keisha Kennedy entered a guilty plea on March 25, 2026, in the 19th Judicial District Court on three counts of Medicaid Fraud, a violation of Louisiana law.
According to investigators, between July 2020 and January 2021, Kennedy operated as a Medicaid provider and claimed she had hired an employee to provide medical services to her disabled minor child. However, the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit determined that no employee was ever hired, and fraudulent claims were submitted for services that were never provided.
Kennedy was originally arrested on April 1, 2024, following the investigation.
As part of her guilty plea, Kennedy’s sentence was deferred under Article 893. She was placed on two years of supervised probation with several conditions, including:
Payment of $5,000 in prosecution costs
Payment of $404.75 in court costs
Monthly probation fees of $65
Maintaining employment
Remaining drug and alcohol free
No possession of firearms
No further criminal activity
The case was investigated by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit within the Louisiana Department of Justice, which led to Kennedy’s arrest and subsequent conviction.
