Tim Soignet, sheriff of Terrebonne Parish, announced the arrest of a 17-year-old Dulac resident following an investigation sparked by a cyber tip.

On Feb. 25, 2026, detectives with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit were notified of a tip submitted through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The report indicated that images depicting juveniles in sexually explicit conduct had been identified in Terrebonne Parish.

Investigators reviewed the information and identified Jansen Jarrell Naquin, 17, as a suspect. Authorities said Naquin appeared in multiple images and was linked to more than 600 files containing illegal content involving juveniles.

Detectives located Naquin and brought him in for questioning. During the interview, he allegedly admitted to possessing the material and acknowledged involvement with the images, according to authorities.

Naquin was arrested and charged with 601 counts of Possession of Child Pornography Involving Juveniles. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where he remains held on a $50,000 bond set by local judges.

Sheriff Soignet thanked partnering agencies for their assistance, including the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, citing strong cooperation among local, state and federal officials in combating crimes against children.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
