LAFOURCHE PARISH — Enforcement agents with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries cited a Thibodaux man after an investigation revealed he was allegedly selling fish caught under a recreational fishing license.
Agents cited Christopher Harris Jr., 30, on Januar
y 9 for illegally selling recreationally caught fish. The investigation began after agents discovered a social media post from December 21, 2025, advertising cleaned and bagged red drum and speckled trout for sale.

Agents made contact with Harris at his residence on January 9, where he admitted to selling fish he personally caught while fishing under a recreational license. Further investigation revealed Harris also had an active arrest warrant out of Lafourche Parish.
Deputies with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, arrested Harris, and booked him into the Lafourche Parish Criminal Justice Complex.

Selling fish caught recreationally is illegal in Louisiana and carries penalties ranging from $400 to $950 in fines and up to 120 days in jail.
