WHAT: For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as lownas 17 expected. For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures asnlow as 26 to 29 possible.
WHERE: Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana andnsoutheast Texas.
WHEN: For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 PM Sunday to 10 AMnCST Monday. For the Freeze Watch, from Sunday evening through Monday morning.
IMPACTS: Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected ski
is exposed to these temperatures. Frost and freeze conditionsncould kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damagenunprotected outdoor plumbing.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, anhat, and gloves.nnMake frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensurenportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsninside.nnKeep pets indoors as much as possible.nnTake steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.nnTo prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them tondrip slowly.
