Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet has announced the arrest of a Thibodaux woman following a disturbance inside a Terrebonne Parish school. The incident, which involved a custodian, a teacher’s aide, and her husband, remains under active investigation as authorities continue searching for a second suspect.
On Friday, November 14th, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer Division responded to a report of a physical altercation inside a Terrebonne Parish school. Upon arrival, authorities identified the involved parties as teacher’s aide Dione H. Domangue, 52, and a school custodian whose name is not being released.
Investigators learned the dispute stemmed from a verbal disagreement the previous day regarding Domangue removing toiletries from a school bathroom for use in her classroom.
Detectives later discovered that on the morning of the incident, Domangue arrived accompanied by her husband, Joshua Paul Domangue, 47, who entered the school moments after she scanned her official credentials, allowing him unauthorized access to the campus.
School surveillance footage confirmed a physical confrontation occurred inside the building, during which the custodian sustained a minor facial injury and his eyeglasses were broken.
On Friday, November 21st, Dione Domangue was brought in for questioning but declined to cooperate with investigators. She was subsequently arrested on the following charges:
Principle to Battery of a School Teacher
Principle to Simple Criminal Damage to Property
Principle to Unlawful Disruption of the Operation of a School
Domangue was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex and later released after posting a $25,000 bond set by local judges.
Authorities have been unable to locate Joshua Paul Domangue, who now has active arrest warrants for:
Battery of a School Teacher
Simple Criminal Damage to Property
Unlawful Disruption of the Operation of a School
Sheriff Soignet commended investigators for their detailed work and emphasized the agency’s commitment to school safety.
“The safety of our school staff and students remains one of this agency’s highest priorities,” Sheriff Soignet said. “Incidents of violence inside our educational institutions will always be met with a swift and thorough investigative response.”
