New Iberia Man Pleads Guilty to Firearm Charge

NEW IBERIA — District Attorney Michael Haik announced that Troy Eldridge, Jr., 41, of New Iberia, has pled guilty as charged to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Eldridge’s plea stems from a prior conviction for Possession of Schedule II: Methamphetamine in 2023.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 13, 2025, before the Honorable Judge Suzanne Sigur in the 16th Judicial District Court.

The case was prosecuted by the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, with assistance from local law enforcement agencies.
