The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for local contractor Donald Reboul, who is accused of accepting nearly $100,000 from a family without fulfilling the terms of a construction contract.
According to the homeowner—who asked to remain anonymous—Reboul was hired through his company, Coastal Custom Builders, and received close to $100,000 in May 2024 to begin a home construction project. However, the homeowner alleges that Reboul failed to pay subcontractors, resulting in liens being placed on their property.
“He was in contact with us throughout the process and seemed available,” the homeowner said. “But communication stopped after we received the second lien.”
The homeowner added that while they initially spoke with one subcontractor, others later came forward. Despite this, no subcontractors appeared on-site, and the family instead began receiving legal notices demanding they vacate the home due to unpaid construction debts.
“Once we got in touch with that subcontractor, more began to reach out—but none were actually showing up at the property,” the homeowner said. “Instead, we started receiving letters demanding that we leave the home because the subcontractors weren’t being paid.”
The family ultimately completed construction in late 2024, but only after paying additional money out-of-pocket to subcontractors to finish the job.
The homeowner explained, “We decided to complete the house ourselves and covered costs for items we had already paid him for, such as garage doors, septic tanks, and similar expenses.”
When contacted by News 10, Reboul denied the claims, asserting that the homeowner was responsible for mismanaging her own finances.
“She mishandled her own funds,” Reboul said. “The loan was hers, through her bank—not mine. She still owes me more than $90,000 for the home.”
According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, an active arrest warrant has been issued for Reboul, and the investigation remains ongoing.
