On September 9, 2025, shortly after 6:00 p.m., TPSO Patrol Division deputies were dispatched to an apartment in the 700 block of Bayou Gardens Boulevard, after witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area. Responding deputies located two victims inside the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male victim, age 19, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, an 18-year-old female, was transported to an out-of-area hospital where she remains in critical condition.
