Cherie Patricia LaSalle Dupre, 40, a lifelong resident of Berwick, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024, at Terrebonne General in Houma.

Cherie, a warm and compassionate soul, found joy in caring for children, both humans and animals. Known as the godmother of all the children she knew, she had a special affinity for anything Disney-related. Her generous and kind-hearted nature extended to everyone she met, making her a cherished presence in the lives of many.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 22 years, Dwayne Dupre; mother, Donna LaSalle; father, Matthew Deslattes; father, Douglas Lasalle Sr.; siblings, Douglas Paul LaSalle Jr. and sister-in-law, Jessica LaSalle, Eric Joseph LaSalle, Jason James Dupre, Nicole Michelle Sanders, Christopher Lynn Patterson and wife Courtney, mother-in-law, Velma Stewart and husband; adopted daughter, Ninna Sidani; four adopted grandchildren, Lilyan, Jalaya, Elijah, Klijah, Wyatt; godchildren, Charlene Lombas, Carolyn Drawbaugh (Liam), Cheyenne Drummond, Addalyn Stansbury; Aimee Stansbury, Zoie Patterson, Blair Patterson, Christopher Lynn Jr. “Juju”, numerous, nieces and nephews, Landon LaSalle, Elijah LaSalle, Alayna LaSalle, Josh Dupre, Justin Dupre, Jenny Mullens (Justin), Samantha Stansbury, Brittlyn Vining, maternal grandparents, Patrica Lombas, Donald Balance, Jannett Cancella, Celeste Inman; paternal grandparents, Diane and Bryan Sanders. Honorable mention, aunts, Enora Lombas, Debbie Belsome, and cousin, Vanessa Lombas; Keisha Lomas and her four children; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Cherie was preceded in death by her sister, Erin LaSalle, brother-in-law, Terry Dupre; father-in-law, Ralph Patterson, great-grandmother, Enora Poche, grandpa, George Rebardi; grandpa, Watson LaSalle; uncle, Darrell LaSalle.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home from 5:00p.m. until 9:00p.m., and again Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. After services Thursday, Cherie will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery.
