Charles “Buck” Tabor, a native and lifelong resident of Amelia, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the age of 94.
Buck was a devoted husband to the late Artie Mae Theriot Tabor, and her passing left a profound impact on him. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years, including during the Korean War from 1952 to 1955. When he could, Buck cherished time outdoors, taking in the natural beauty of Louisiana. He also loved working in his woodshop, where he handcrafted furniture and other items with care.
Those left to cherish Buck’s beautiful memory is his son, Kevin Tabor and his spouse, Raymond Manci, of Palm Springs, CA., his beloved nephew and dedicated caregiver, Brian Tabor of Bayou L’ourse and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife, Artie Mae, Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Ellen Tabor and four siblings.
The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 9:00 am until time of services at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia. A mass of Christian burial will be held for Buck on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia. Following services, Buck will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
Buck’s son and loved ones would like to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to Buck’s nephew and caregiver, Brian Tabor. His care, attention and love was endless. His comforting presence in Buck’s last few years will never be forgotten. Thank you, Brian.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Buck’s memory to St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia.
