Betty Ann Ribardi Bailey passed away peacefully at her home surrounded in love by her family in the early morning hours of Friday, July 12, 2024. She was 77.
Betty was born in Berwick on October 6, 1946 and was one of seven children born to the union of Dominick and Hilda Ribardi. A resident of Patterson for over 50 years, Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Some of her favorite pastimes included dancing with her husband, line dancing with friends, crafting, tending to her garden and roses, and spending time with her family, especially her sister Mable. She also loved camping and listening to her swamp pop music. Betty was also a woman of strong faith. She cherished time spent reading her bible as well as many daily devotionals. She had a huge heart and was a great supporter of many charities. She will be deeply missed by all, but her family takes great comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended, and she is now truly healed and with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Henry J. Bailey Jr.; their six children, James Joseph Bailey Sr. and his wife Denise, Curtis Anthony Bailey Sr. and his wife Dina, Vanessa B. Kimball and her husband Dwayne, Crystal B. Duhon and her husband James, Henry John Bailey III and his wife Brandi, and Roland Bertrand Bailey; 17 grandchildren, Charli, Shelbi, James Jr., Joei, Lillian Rose, Lorin, Kaitlyn, Gavin, Carson F., Curtis Jr., Sarah, Bailey, Carson K., Travis, Trent, Cade, and Caleb; ten great grandchildren; three siblings, Donald Louis Ribardi and his wife Donna, Dominic Ribardi Jr. and his wife Anna, Mable Ann Monceaux and her husband Kevin; her brother-in-law, Myron Hatch; her beloved poodle, Princess; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominick Ribardi and Hilda Blanco Ribardi; three sisters, Mary Lou Hatch, Eva Giddens, and Margie Fabre; her brother-in-law, Mynus Fabre; and her in-laws, Henry J. Bailey Sr. and Bonnie Autin Bailey LeCompte.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial. Following the Mass she will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Herb Bennerfield will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services.
The family requests visiting hours be observed at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume Monday at Ibert’s at 8:00 AM until dismissal from the funeral home at 12:30 PM.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Bailey Sr., Curtis Bailey Sr., Henry Bailey III, Roland Bailey, Curtis Bailey Jr., and James Bailey Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Bailey, Cade Bailey, Carson Kimball, Carson Fontenot, and Travis Duhon.
