Eris R. Osburn, Jr., age 82, a native and resident of Morgan City, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
According to Morgan City Police’s Facebook Page, Eris served with the Morgan City Police Department as a Police Officer from 1967 until he retired in 1987. After retirement, Erris took on the adventure of opening and operating Osburn’s Tire Center which is still in operation on Sandra Street in Morgan City.
Chief Chad M. Adams and the Morgan City Police Department offered their heartfelt condolences and prayers to Dwain and Craig along to the entire Osburn family in the loss of such a great man.
Chief Chad Adams posted in a statement, “We are sure going to miss him sitting in that old chair harassing us as we came in for our repairs. Pull out the pink ties as his life will be celebrated Saturday. Thank You for your service as a Morgan City Police Officer and Business Owner to this great community”
Eris is survived by his sons, Dwain Osburn and wife, Shani, and Craig Osburn and wife, Erin; grandchildren, Brittni Osburn, Cade Osburn and wife, Kortney, Tyler Osburn, Alexander Osburn, Nicholas Osburn, Caroline Osburn, Zachary Osburn, Noah Osburn and Maddie Osburn; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Isla, Aubrey, Owen, Aiden, Rory, Roman, Caden, and Izabella.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janice E. Osburn; son, Troy Osburn; and sister, Alice Faye.
A Memorial Service for Eris will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10am at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick with graveside services following in the Morgan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tunnel of Towers Foundation or a charity of your choice.
