Sheriff Tim Soignet of Terrebonne Parish confirmed an active investigation into a shooting that took place near Alma Street and Westside Blvd yesterday around 7:00 pm. Patrol deputies arrived at the scene after receiving reports and found at least one gunshot victim. Detectives quickly joined the investigation, leading to a suspect’s arrest during a traffic stop shortly afterward.
The injured individual was taken to a hospital outside the area and is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. As the investigation continues, the Sheriff’s Office is withholding the identities of those involved for now. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
