A Saturday evening vehicle crash in Patterson is believed to have been caused by a drive-by shooting just moments before the crash, according to Patterson Police.
First responders were dispatched to Highway 90 eastbound near Park Street at approximately 7:12 pm in reference to a single-vehicle crash involving a flipped vehicle. However, Patterson Police Chief Garret Grogan tells KQKI News that he believes the vehicle involved in the crash had just exchanged gunfire with another vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries sustained in the crash while the passenger refused treatment at the scene. A gun was located in the vehicle and will be sent to a crime lab. The other vehicle believed to be involved in the gunfire remains at large.
The incident remains under investigation.
