On March 20, 2024 @ 10:10 a.m., officers with the Morgan City Police Department, responded to LA 70 near Veterans Blvd regarding a vehicle crash that had occurred.
The crash claimed the life of Bridget Skinner, 52 years of age, of Morgan City, Louisiana.
According to reports, Mrs. Skinner was traveling north bound on LA 70 in a 2018 Dodge Challenger. The vehicle began to accelerate and for unknown reasons still under investigation, left the roadway, striking a tree before coming to rest partially overturned. Mrs. Skinner was the sole occupant in the vehicle.
Mrs. Skinner was removed from the vehicle by the Morgan City Fire Department. She was pronounced deceased by the St. Mary Parish Coroner’s Office. The Louisiana State Police assisted with the investigation.
The investigation is ongoing to determine what took place resulting in the crash.
