Toddler Injured in Franklin Drive-By Shooting, Suspect Arrested

The toddler was transported by Acadian Air Med and is reported to be in in stable condition.

On May 18, 2025, at approximately 7:26 pm, the Franklin Police Department responded to a drive-by shooting in the area of O’Neal Chube Street.  KQKI News has confirmed with the Franklin Police Department that a toddler was injured in the shooting. The toddler was transported by Acadian Air Med and is reported to be in in stable condition.

Shacoby Johnson, 29, of Laperouse Dr., New Iberia, LA, with the assistance of the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, was arrested on May 19, 2025, at 3:46 AM, on the charges of attempted second degree murder – 3 counts, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, disturbing the peace, possession of a firearm by person convicted of certain felonies, firearm-free zone, and aggravated criminal damage to property. Johnson was booked, processed, and held on a $355,000.00 bond.
