Thibodaux Man Arrested for June 11 Shooting at Retail Store Near Labadieville

Labadieville, LA. – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon announced the arrest of 23-year-old Korey Jacobi Davis from Thibodaux, LA, in connection to a shooting incident at a retail store north of Labadieville on June 11, 2023. Davis faces multiple charges of attempted first-degree murder.

Responding to a reported shooting, deputies found that a fight had taken place at the store, followed by a person shooting into the crowd of customers. Several individuals were injured as a result.

The investigation revealed Korey Jacobi Davis was involved in an altercation before firing his weapon into the crowd. Seven people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment at local hospitals.

Following the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for Davis, who was apprehended in Terrebonne Parish on July 28, 2023. He was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on multiple charges, including illegal weapon possession and use.

Korey Jacobi Davis remains in jail without bond awaiting a court hearing. Sheriff Leland Falcon thanks the Thibodaux Police Department and Lafourche and Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Offices for their assistance in the case.
