The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office has taken a suspect into custody following a reports of shots fired on Lake Road on Tuesday evening.
At approximately 6:07 PM, deputies with the SMPSO Patrol Division responded to a residence on Lake Road in Centerville. A complainant reported that an individual discharged a firearm while driving away from the scene.
Using a description of the vehicle and the suspect’s identity, deputies located the vehicle on Hwy 87 in Franklin a short time later. A traffic stop was conducted, and the subject, identified as Shane King, 49, was taken into custody without further incident. King was subsequently transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.
No injuries were reported, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety at this time.
