St. Mary Arrest Report 11-23-2021

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 44 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Junius Seymore Verret Jr., 55, Theriot, LA, was arrested on November 22, 2021, at 1:23 pm on three warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Possession of undersize crabs
  • Taking oysters from unapproved area
  • Illegal use, consumption, possession, or distribution of a CDS in the presence of a person under 17
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • No seat belt
  • Improper child restraint
  • Operating a vehicle without a driver’s license

Bail has not been set.

Brady Paul Rodriguez, 30, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 22, 2021, at 4:29 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set.

Devontre O. Richard, 24, Berwick, LA, was arrested on November 23, 2021, at 2:00 am for maximum speed limit, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Richard was released on a summons to appear on February 3, 2022.

Quantravious R. Hill, 23, Patterson, LA, was arrested on November 23, 2021, at 2:00 am for possession of marijuana. Hill was released on a summons to appear on February 3, 2022.

Benjamin Pittman Jr., 19, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 23, 2021, at 2:47 pm for turning movements/required signals and possession of marijuana. Pittman was released on a summons to appear on February 3, 2022.

NARCOTICS SECTION

Luis Garcilazo, 19, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on November 21, 2021, at 11:34 am for illegal possession of stolen things and illegal possession of stolen firearms. Garcilazo was also arrested on a Berwick Police Department warrant for burglary-simple and theft of a firearm.

On Monday, November 22, 2021, a detective with the Narcotics Section of the SMPSO was contacted in reference to assisting a Berwick Police Department Detective with a case of an overnight car burglary in the Berwick/Bayou Vista area.

Through the investigation, the BPD detective had developed Garcilazo as the suspect in a vehicle burglary in which several items had been taken. The SMPSO detective obtained and executed a search warrant on a residence in Bayou Vista. Subsequently, stolen items and firearms were located.

Garcilazo was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set.
