St. James Man Arrested After High Speed Pursuit

PAINCOURTVILLE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Kylin Terry Joseph, 18, of 10475 East Tchoupitoulas Circle, St. James, LA, on multiple charges arising out of a traffic incident on LA 70 East on Thursday afternoon.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a violation and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle engaged the deputy into a high-speed pursuit eastbound.

The pursuit continued at speeds in excess of 140 miles per hour into Ascension Parish. The pursuit was terminated near the Sunshine Bridge in St. James Parish and the driver, now identified as Kylin Terry Joseph was arrested.

Kylin Terry Joseph was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

  • Aggravated Flight from an Officer
  • Speeding – General Speed Law

Kylin Terry Joseph remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
