Randall Randy Lee Buxton, 78, a resident of Patterson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Randy was born on May 23, 1943 in La Plata, Maryland the son of Lloyd Gatlin and Maude Louise Jones Gatlin.

Randy served his country proudly for 12 years in the United States Air Force. After his time in the Air Force and after a few years in the oil field, Randy had a passion for helping people and became an addiction counselor. For over 30 years Randy was a licensed addiction counselor at Fairview Hospital and St. Mary Drug Court. Randy was an avid reader and lover of history. He was an avid historian and especially loved studying the civil war. Along with history, Randy was a lover of LSU and the New Orleans Saints, never missing a game. He was very humorous person who always loved to make people laugh. Randy wasnt a big fan of seafood and when it came to crabs, crawfish and shrimp always said,  I refuse to go through the dead body cavities of crustations for my food!

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Brenda Brandi Buxton of Patterson; two daughters, Melissa Hopkins and husband Thad of Bayou LOurse and Danyell Hewitt and husband Chris of Berwick; five grandchildren, Casie Brown and husband Chris, Alana Harris, Juan Torres Jr. and wife Brandy, Austin Franks and Kaitlyn Franks; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Laura Cohelan and husband Tim of San Diego, California.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry J. White Jr.; brother, Wayne Jack Buxton; one sister, Joann Bailey.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home with a memorial visitation being held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
