Thibodaux, LA – A 41-year-old Oregon resident has been arrested following an investigation into a missing teenager from Thibodaux, Louisiana, Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reports.

The case began on April 20 when law enforcement responded to a report of a 16-year-old male who had left his Burma Road home in Thibodaux, leaving his electronic devices behind. Investigators discovered the teen had communicated with a teenage girl from Oregon through Snapchat, expressing his desire to leave his adoptive family.

Through their investigation, detectives traced the girl’s phone to Oregon, where state police located a vehicle containing Roxanne Mocaby of Redmond, Oregon, along with both teenagers. During questioning, Mocaby acknowledged her awareness and involvement in the situation.

Authorities have charged Mocaby with simple kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. She is currently held at Harney County Jail in Oregon with bail set at $50,000, pending extradition to Lafourche Parish.
