According to Bayou Vista VolunteerFire Department Chief Gerald Price, on Sunday 6/9/2024, the BVVFD responded to 103 Bowen Lane in Bayou Vista for a mobile home fire.
Upon arrival the first engine reported heavy smoke and fire showing. The home received heavy fire and smoke damage. There were no report of any injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
According to Fire Chief Price, the home did not have working smoke detectors at the time of the fire. The BVVFD has joined in the Louisiana State Fire Marshall Operation save a life program.
