Morgan City Gives Residents 30 Days to Register Roosters Under New Ordinance
Morgan City — Residents who own roosters in the city now have a limited time to comply with a newly adopted ordinance.
City officials announced that all rooster owners must register their animals within 30 days beginning June 5, 2026. The requirement is part of an effort to ensure public safety and maintain compliance with local regulations.
To complete the registration process, residents are asked to contact the Animal Warden through the Morgan City Police Department.
Officials say those with roosters should call 985-384-2310 to begin registration and avoid potential violations.
The city is encouraging cooperation from residents as the new ordinance goes into effect.
