RACELAND, La. — A Raceland man has died following injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash last month on Louisiana Highway 308.

According to Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred on April 17, 2026, shortly before 5:00 p.m., near Triple Oaks Drive. The victim has been identified as 73-year-old Walter Foran of Raceland.

Preliminary findings indicate Foran was traveling north on LA 308 on a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle as a 2003 Honda Accord attempted to turn left from Triple Oaks Drive onto the highway. For reasons still under investigation, the Honda failed to yield and entered the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision.

The driver of the Honda, who was properly restrained, was not injured. Authorities say Foran was wearing a DOT-approved helmet but sustained serious injuries and was transported to an out-of-area hospital.
Troopers later confirmed that Foran died from his injuries on May 2, 2026.

Investigators say impairment is not suspected for either driver, and the crash remains under investigation.
