On Monday, January 10, 2022, Mary Evelyn Francis was welcomed into the gates of heaven at the age of 85. A native of Dulac and a resident of Morgan City, Mary was known living for her family. Her life revolved around her children, siblings, many grandchildren, and her beloved fur-babies. With her, each grandchild felt special and adored and knew Maw Maw Fran loved them. In her past, Mary enjoyed going shrimping and spending time at the casinos. She excelled at cleaning fish and wild game, could bake delicious meals (her sweet potato pie and fried bread were the absolute best in the world), and she was exceptional at giving orders to her children. Her sweet and loving demeanor has surely made heaven that much brighter.

Mary’s wonderful memory will live on in the hearts of her children, Kathy Dinger and her husband, Kirk, Kellen Francis, Sidney “June” Francis and his wife, Sabrina, Julie Dinger and her husband, Rodney Sr., Pamela Allen and her husband, Brad, and David Francis and his wife, Barbara; her siblings, Esther Benoit, Horace Rodrigue, Edelta Solet, Florence Leeds, Albert Rodrigue, and Joseph Rodrigue; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

She was greeted in death by her husband, Antoine “Tee” Francis; her parents, Cyril and Albertine Lodrigue; siblings, Norris Rodrigue, Mae Parfait, and Lorena Reed; one grandchild, Tabatha Gross and one great grandchild, Dylan Dinger.

A time of reflection and visitation will be held on Thursday, January 13th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and again on Friday, January 14th from 9:00am until time of dismissal at 12:30pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. Following visitation, a Mass of Christian burial will be prayed on Friday, January 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church with graveside services taking place in the Berwick Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Francis, Ryan Francis, Josh Brunet, Rodney Dinger Jr., Kirk Dinger Jr., and Chad Lodrigue. Honorary pallbearers will be Kellen Francis, David Francis, Sidney “June” Francis, Rodney Dinger Sr., Kirk Dinger, Brad Allen and Thomas Ervin.
