Napoleonville – A 26-year-old man has been arrested following an incident that took place late Saturday in the 3900 block of LA 70. Dorian Vashun D. Brown, a resident of Pierre Part, is facing multiple felony charges.
Deputies from the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office were called to the area after receiving reports of a fight involving a dangerous weapon. Upon arrival, they found two men engaged in a physical dispute. Swift action by the deputies brought the situation under control, and an investigation into the events leading up to the altercation began.
The dispute had its roots in a disagreement between two women over personal matters, primarily through electronic communication. Brown, who was romantically involved with one of the women, left his residence on Substation Street and went to the address on Highway 70. Once there, he forcefully entered the premises and brandished a knife, threatening one of the occupants. In response, that individual fled outside the residence, with Brown in pursuit.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers discovered a handgun and several spent casings outside the property. The incident is still under investigation.
As a result of the inquiry, Dorian Vashun D. Brown was arrested and transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center. He is now facing charges of home invasion, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, and driving while intoxicated.
Brown is currently in custody pending a bond hearing.
