18 local students and teachers were presented with Americanism awards by VFW Patterson Memorial Post Auxillary 12182 during an event on Friday, February 7 at the Berwick Civic Center. Americanism awards are given to recognize individuals who have demonstrated patriotism and a commitment to supporting veterans and their families. The Town of Berwick was a main sponsor of the event and Hargrave Funeral Home provided the meal for those in attendance.

Category 1 – Kindergarten

2nd Place– Bryson Simoneaux, Berwick Elementary
1st Place– Brodi Dore, Hattie Watts Elementary
Category 2 – 1st & 2nd grade
Tie for 3rd Place – Alexa Perico and Andi Lajaunie, both are students of Berwick Elementary
2nd Place – Sashya Spech, Hattie Watts Elementary
1st Place – Liam Lemelle, Berwick Elementary
Category 3 – 3rd & 4th grade
