Leona Ann Ratcliff Landry, 86, of Bayou Vista, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 7, 2023.Leona was born on November 27, 1936, in Morgan City to J.C. and Lucy Dragna Ratcliff.
Leona was a loving, nurturing wife and mother. A business administrator, teacher, and artist, she will be sadly missed and remembered by all who were touched by her generosity, strength, and giving nature. She loved dogs, flower gardening, bird watching, but especially time with her grandkids. She will always be in our hearts and souls.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Merval J. Landry; four children: Martin Landry (Renee), Grant Landry (Karen), Keith Landry (Alison), and Joy Largent (Christopher).
Leona is also survived by nine grandchildren: Brooke Todd, April LeMaire, Taylor Landry, Ashley Burck, Kristen Landry, Jordan Costa, Drew Landry, Erin Rife, and Brian Landry;eleven great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Janice Ratcliff; her sisters, Frances Miller and Julie Hepler; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, J.C. Ratcliff, Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Joseph Hepler.
